Chanel 2009 Top Jewelry Itinerant Exhibition in Beijing and Shanghai
The Chanel 2009 Mademoiselle’s Stories Top Jewelry is on exhibition in Shanghai and Beijing, promoting the brand’s legendary origin, unique status and great style. Five series are exhibited, and their inspirations all come from Coco Chanel’s Bijoux de Diamants diamond jewelry show in 1932 and her legendary life.
The exhibited pieces are full of the classic elements of Chanel jewelry, such as five pointed star that stands for good fortune, camellia, pearl, tweed and San Marco style colored gem stones, and diamond, the main material of the 1932 show.

The Riviere D’etoiles series
The non-button design necklace of the 1932 Bijoux de Diamants jewelry collection has caused a sensation in Paris then.
The seemingly complex-structured necklace has a simple main structure through the diamond stars. The Prony setting highlights the main diamonds in the center of the five-pointed star. This series is completed with diamond watch, earrings and ring.

The Camellia Tweed series
The Camellia Tweed series has cleverly integrated four classic design elements of Chanel: camellia, black and white, tweed and pearl. This series has especially selected small-carat black and white diamonds and Japanese pearls under 4.5mm diameter to present fine granularity. It isn’t easy to find pearls in the same luster, roundness and quality, and the setting of small diamonds is very consuming, therefore, a necklace takes almost ten months to finish. This series also has bracelets, earrings and rings.

The Camellia Baroque series
In early 1920s, Coco Chanel has visited Venice and the splendid colors of the churches there inspired her a lot. Since then, she gave free rein to her creativity using colorful gemstones in designing jewelry. The Baroque-style splendid colors though differ a lot from her usual black and white, and yet they are extremely harmonious.
